He's not anti-establishment enough for the Hastings treatment

Scahill comes across as pro-war. When an investigative journalist of his calibur remains pro-war, he actually does the Neocons a favor. They'll accept a little nitpicking of their policies in return for his promulgating, with what is perceived as great objectivity, about the "need" to take on Al Qaeda.
