Most if not all dui checkpoints in CT are overtime gigs

It is federal grant money - and you better believe they expect results - or else they simply do not get those grants again. So technically no quota - but then - no overtime on the next round of holidays.

I have pointed this out many times, but it bears repeating here again.

Not only are cops here in CT paid the overtime for the duty cycle(usually 8 hours paid even if the checkpoint in only 5 hours) - their pensions are based upon their top 3 years pay - so when they retire - they get to retire based upon that federal grant overtime pay they received in those top three years.
Its a simple game - load up three of your years and retire like a king- meanwhile - the commoners don't pay attention - after all - that was federal grant money. (funny thing to note - we see another post about how truckers cannot work so many hours straight - yet no such provision is in our law for officers - seems odd to me).

Now do people start seeing the cycle?
