I can not find it on wiki to show you.. but in the museum I work as a decent, on our dinations box, we have a blown up repleca of a $10 note from the Gold Rush days, when gold and silver were the legal tender.. the note is from what was a local bank (before the federal reserve closed such banks. On the bill in large letters is the name of the bank.. where to gold was deposited.

San Francisco had 37 national banks before the SF Earthquake in 1906. Each bank was filled with gold and silver.
