I will only relinquish guns or gold 'from my cold dead hands'.

I do think that every peaceful option must first be exercised and plentiful warning given to whomever is trying to take your rights. I think that violence in defense of rights is only necessary in a situation where Government attempts to take citizens means to defend themselves and their wealth. Any other invasion of rights doesn't deserve a violent response in my opinion.

Violence is almost always futile and should be avoided with great effort. I would rather peacefully resist and give them no other option but to take liberty. At that point we begin to approach the line where physical resistance and eventually violence become the only options to retain freedom.
