As an ex-christian,

As an ex-christian, non-mormon living in Utah... Yeah, there is a big difference. I don't think it's fair to come along with a whole new set of rules and stories (many of which inarguably conflict with the Bible [which inarguably conflicts itself]) and say you are of the same religion.

Also, to say that just because they believe in Christ makes them Christian is to say that most of the major religions of the world are Christian. Many of them might take issue with that...

I respect your right to believe what you want to believe, but if the vast majority of the original organization doesn't like you calling yourself a part of it, I feel the original organization gets rights to their name. They completely changed the rules and added things and took things out, and that's fine, I have no problem with it, but it makes them something different.
