People counting ballots...

... with representatives from both (albeit fake) parties counting and double-checking and recording votes is MUCH more difficult to "hack" than what has been already going on with Diebold machines and the like. Get it? It's at least still a *local* event and so forth, and not an event where some clown can utterly erase votes with the wave of a magic (remote) device.

What would you suggest is a better alternative? I mean, sincerely? What else has a better chance of accuracy / not being fucked with?

(And, yes, we all know elections have included fraud / dead voters / etc. from the get-go, so it's obviously an imperfect solution.)
