RP was the last opponent to Romney, all others had dropped out because of a lack of funds and because it was IMPOSSIBLE to catch Romney. RP dragged that on as long as he could (actively campaigning), the energy and funds from the grassroots aren't infinite and he made a decision. To drag that even further would have been foolish and would not have helped to spread the message any further: RP made his points during the debates.

As far as law suits, that was never going to happen even if the cheating and fraud was obvious to us that witnessed it because Benton hired Bruce Fein, an ex AIPAC lawyer, to offer "legal council" to the campaign.
