If rights are universal and

If rights are universal and unalienable they must be negative. It's a logical necessity, like 1+1=2 is a logical necessity.

If it's not universal and unalienable it's not a right, it's a privilege and it must come at the expense of someone else, as you note.

You can conflate the terms rights and privileges. But it doesn't get you anywhere.

There does exist moral authority to action that is unalienable and universal. We call these things 'rights', and have for some time. But even if we didn't call them rights they would still exist, so the progressive trick of renaming thing doesn't work on people who know what they are talking about.

Call them what you will but mixing them up just mixes up your cognition.
