I have noticed how entrenched many of us are in seeing "the state" as having superior rights... It appears we have lost the idea that we exist for the purpose of the state, rather than the state existing for the people. Snowden is effectively charged with violating the privacy rights of "the state"... How ironic that he had to "violate" the state's right to privacy to expose "we the people's right to privacy"...
