yeah, but I still can't 'get over' the whole 40% part...

I mean, them thievin' is bad enough, but forty percent??

and these ARE the proverbial "good folks" the eponymous "salt of the earth farmers"

suppose in some sense, the bigger question is, WHY didn't they themselves challenge this, for I guess what maybe approaching 60yrs+ of such insane, fascist, tyrannical, govt theft of their property: at some level even the farmers themselves must've rationalized to themselves that the 40% cut to the govt mob, 'benefited' them somehow, no?

I still cannot believe that this went on for so long...

then again, suppose the Founders would say the same for ALL of us, when it comes to 'rationalizing' and 'accepting' the FED.Res/IRS and income tax/debt-slavery, for so f'ng long.

So, I 'get' that none of us are immune, but numbers and taxes being what they are, proportionally speaking, still: having 40% of your physical annual output in perishable goods stolen, I'd posit, that it definitely leaves a more visceral, physical gut-wrenching mark; like using credit/debit card: even though both cash and plastic are currencies (well, the latter merely a medium/instrument of its transmission, but for the sake of discussion...), almost everyone 'watches' more of how one spends their FRN's when they use cash, as in what's physically going in and out of your wallet and your pockets, than 'virtual' bits and magnetic swipes: all psychological...

40% though...

Hesus Cristos, there's no 'rationalizing' that anyway you cut it.

hot damn, the farmers have it truly rough: it's like in what universe do SERVANTS get to dictate how much of their EMPLOYER boss' earnings they're gonna take steal??

it's just insane. truly, if one sorta intellectually appreciated farmers before, I have a gazillion times more respect for them now: definitely a resilient bunch. god bless them all.

Predictions in due Time...
