There are many. Probably the most palatable for you would be "The Jesus Mysteries". It is a good basic look at astrological and 'pagan' interpretations of star and sun deities. The story of Yeshua is told over and over again, both before and after the alleged person lived in the Christian Bible. If you look at ancient religions across the globe, the relationship of 12 months and zodiacs of the year is pretty obvious.

One basic concept is the "nativity". The "sun/son" rises out of virgo (virgin)for a couple thousand years at the end of December. All over the Northern Hemisphere ancient cultures celebrated this time of the shortest day. There is really just too much to get into.

A slightly harder-hitting book is "The Christ Conspiracy".

"In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot."--Mark Twain
