I do not ever remember reading the quote in Plato's works, so cannot say for certain. You can find it in "quotes by" sites, but I would have dig to see if I could find the source.

"Although the distinction being it's an accurate interpretation of what Socrates thought as opposed to people misconstruing the "I know nothing" quote?"

But this sums it up. If the popular myth quote accurately represented Socrates' approach/viewpoint based on known writings I wouldn't take such issue with it.
