I watched an interesting biopic last night about Burma political activist and leader Aung San Suu Kyi.
Here is a person who spent two decades in some form of detention because of her efforts to bring democracy to Burma, a military-ruled country. The junta nullified her overwhelming election victory in 1991 so she was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
People like Al Gore (another questionable winner) and Obama have not had to make the kind of personal sacrifices made by this woman and Snowden. I go along with you that the prize has been made irrelevant by giving the award to such undeserving people. They need to firm up their standards if they are going to be taken seriously.
