Comparative authority is no fallacy

The choice is between accepting the word of an amateur or that of a professional in the field with decades of experience, dozens of peer-reviewed publications, and inventions in his field of expertise that are now in everyday use by other scientists around the world.

Mutations are claimed to be the driving force behind evolution but now we know that the accumulation rate of deleterious mutations is far above any perceived benefit from information loss in the DNA that results from the rare mutation that works well in a niche environment.
