The British writer Saki (H.H. Munro) once described a lady of the sort you're mocking thusly:

"She was the sort of Christian who made one yearn for the good old days when Christians were looked down upon, and the looking down was done from the bleachers of the Coliseum." (quoted from memory; I don't recall the title of the story where it appeared.)
