Even if you buy the premise, the war still makes no sense

As Rand said, bombing the weapons cache but still leaving some around doesn't prevent Assad from striking again. And if he was (in theory) crazy enough to attack his own people right after the UN inspectors came in then why would he stop after a limited bombing strike? And if we're not after "regime change" then what signal does that send to the world?

This is not in any way to suggest that I buy the premise. I'm sure there is MUCH more to this story than we're being told.
