making it real

What good is religion left exclusively in the abstract?

What Pope Francis is doing is equating "Son" with "conscience".

It appears to me as a great moment in reformation, a reformation that began long ago with Martin Luther, a reformation to accept the New Testament as new testament. Catholic theology has long struggled with apostle Paul's writing that the word of God is written on our hearts [for each of us to read]. Such a notion is also at the core of Doctor Paul's philosophy.

I have no problem with this, as a matter of fact I think it's great. It's as if the Pope is saying, "Although they might not have been Catholics per se, Gandhi and MLK Junior may well have entered heaven."
