The mistake was corrected.

It was never a term of art, whatever that means. Had the naturalization act of 1790 stood, the term "natural born citizen" would be defined in law, making it the same as naturalized citizen, which it is not.

The naturalization act of 1795 eliminated the term "natural born citizen" and replaced it with citizen. Why do you think congress deleted the term, "natural born citizen" and replaced it with citizen?
