'Direct' Versus 'Indirect' Taxation

Secondly, I think you may have meant to say they are protected from "direct" taxation as well as individuals are,

The definitions of 'direct' versus 'indirect' taxation have been going on since 1787 (the banker/Lawyer guilds repeating the 'definitions' ad-nauseum). the Supreme court has been forced to decide this issue multiple times, and in every case (regarding 'case-law), they have always decided in all fashions that the taking (of an individual or group of individuals) of monies traded for time (barter) is 'non-uniform' in application; and therefore UNCONSTITUTIONAL. The taking of your bartered income in the form of 'hidden' taxes is considered to be an 'indirect' form of taxation; but the taking of your bartered monies in any type of 'voluntary' (thus, 'discretionary') spending is considered 'direct' taxation. 'DIRECT' taxation would be the type that the 'excise taxes' are based upon (liquor, tobacco, or 'sin' taxes). INDIRECT taxation would be along the lines of having to purchase a good in order to maintain survival (like FOOD), and being FORCED to pay EXTRA for this 'privilege' of (eating, for example). SALES TAXES on FOOD are a great example, but the taxes paid and passed on to the 'consumer' in the form of (for example) gasoline taxes that the food producer is forced to pay for the fuel that is used to ship food to the marketplace is ALSO an 'INDIRECT' tax paid for by, well, YOU. To refresh your memory, i will re-post the portion of the Supreme Law that discusses this:
Section 8 - Powers of Congress
The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;

YOU don't have a 'car'. You 'use' 'electricity'. OBVIOUSLY, you ALSO 'use' the 'INTERNET' (as do I). YOU MUST 'EAT'.
Since you 'don't have a car', by WHAT means do you 'earn a living' in order to 'pay' for your 'electricity' and your 'internet'? QUITE a CONUNDRUM, don't you see?
