From infancy, they pretty much know to please Dad.
However, there often comes a time (puberty) when the attitude shifts, regardless of parenting style.
Getting the balance of parenting style between authoritarian and neglect, just right (i.e., libertarian), is critical, so that when they go looking for the next "dad" they aren't looking for an authoritarian despot either because they want more authority or because it's the only thing they know. (It amazes me how many females are afraid to be alone; now there's something they ought to know how to do!)
Now is the time to teach values and skills!
(Humm. I assume you're an engineer, or something like that. There's something very organized about that paper, and the handwriting is similar to mine (which is similar to my engineer Dad's).
