I just looked at the notes on this law, it was not that hard to find for anyone that is interested just click the notes tab, and the word "suspended" does not appear, perhaps you are referring to the fact that prior to 1934 the law specifically mentioned redemption in gold and that provision was struck out in that year? This law is certainly still in effect the only argument is over what constitutes lawful money, which is why I linked to several sources that I feel make a compelling argument that under the constitution lawful money is and can only be gold and silver coin.
