Horse pucky

The movie is anti-establishment. Although sadly not overtly anti-statist.

Clearly it is not an endorsement of obeying and killing. The protagonists are heroes in the story precisely because they (ultimately) refuse and are willing to die rather than kill when ordered.

It's a good story. Unfortunately it says this government is bad so needs to be replaced. The true and better story would be government is bad and needs to be ended, or strictly held in check.

There is no good government. There is only evil government. Government doesn't corrupt. Government is corruption.

So it's just a question of whether you want baby sized evil, as the founders thought could exist, or super-sized evil as we currently have.
