I'll certainly work on it when I can. I have so many unfinished projects that it gets overwhelming at times. Something like this requires a clear head and a solid block of free time to write. For me, anyway.
To answer your question, that particular line basically paraphrases the intent of the previous lines, and points to the general direction in which the song is headed lyrically...i.e., personal accountability, not playing the odds but making your own. A personal rebuttal to the "all you need is a dollar and a dream" mentality. The analogy seems obvious to me, that we put our money in daily and pin our hopes on some outside chance that we will achieve success, when in the end...no dollars left, and no dreams.
