That put a knot in my stomach,

particularly the public statement made by the judge. I'd love to hear what Thane Rosenbaum would have to say about this case. He's the author of The Myth of Moral Justice: Why Our Legal System Fails To Do What's Right. "...Rosenbaum tackles complicated philosophical questions about our longing for moral justice. He also takes a critical look at what our legal system does to the spirits of those who must come before the law, along with those who practice within it."

Specifically covered is the issue of settlements, such as in Judge Coker's case, what's allowing this violator of citizens' rights to make the arrogant statement she did, saying the Judicial Commission made no judgment of guilt and nor did she ever admit to any fault: it was a "voluntary resignation."
