The Libertarian Party (if you acknowledge that they are a fairly good reference for the issues) named several topics where there is not an absolute libertarian stand. These include: abortion (most libertarian candidates are pro-choice, but they acknowledge that there are valid libertarian arguments for pro-life) and the death penalty. The biggest libertarian argument against the death penalty (if I am recalling correctly) is that the government is simply too incompetent to be entrusted with that type of power.
