He's probably right.

Against everything he campaigned for, he raised taxes. While this might cut the deficit in half, the government is still borrowing 1.5 trillion dollars a year that gets added to the debt.

It's the difference between the deficit and the debt. Of course, there isn't any difference, except to someone using this line of BS, and who thinks we're all stupid.
