For most of you socialism is just an abstraction, you don't know it, never experienced it and you may have hard time to recognize it when you see it. Well, why not to ask those who know it by the first hand experience. Please check out this book:
I read Shafarevich's "Introduction to Algebraic Geometry" when I was just in my 20s living in communist Poland. I have experienced 27 years of socialism before moving to Canada. I am sorry for you guys, after moving to US I found out that US is much more like a socialist country than Canada. You have too much involvement of the government everywhere. This opinion is shared by most of the immigrants from commie countries I know.
The basic problem is that one believes that everything is real, and thus everything is treated as such.
