Comment: We are not happy because...

(See in situ)

We are not happy because...

...scratch that - We do not FEEL happy (I'm actually very happy; I just have occasional feelings of unhappiness due to all the fraud and unconstitutional activities of our governments at all levels.) because we are "talking" and not DOING.

In the absence of a Ron Paul campaign, there is a natural gap or missing purpose on a site named after the great "Champion of the Constitution".

What we are left with is stating opinions about various things and posting articles, videos, etc. and wondering how people will respond. This leads to self-centeredness, which in turn leads to more strife. "Only by pride cometh contention." Proverbs 13:10

So I will get in line behind Barracuda Trader, Quilting Sando and Michael Nystrom by saying we need to get away from the DP a little more often and DO something with the knowledge we have gained. (But of course, come back often)

I started a Neighborhood Liberty Assembly for the purpose of presenting information that will wake up those who attend to their rights and government corruption and the many violations of those rights, and also the limitations of the constitutions (U.S. and State).

This satisfies my longing to work to restore our liberties (which will never occur without more of the People being awake and involved anyway) and gives me a break from some of the useless negativity on the DP.

In keeping my mind sharp by teaching others and answering their questions, I find when I do come on the DP, I have a greater appreciation for those who post and comment honorably on topics relative to our longing for a restoration of our liberties and constitutionally limited government. I find myself wasting less time with the nonsense.

So, in a nutshell, yes, let's all spend more time learning to garden (farm), make things, gather our own available resources and organizing our lives for protection and production. Along with that, we all need to practice our communication skills - not to get better and slamming someone, but to get better at recognizing where someone is in their thinking and logically presenting evidence and arguments that will bring them to a proper conclusion based on truth and facts, instead of ideology.

But that takes work. It just so happens that I love work, which is why I garden, gather resources and am trying to learn how to recycle stuff myself instead of giving those resources to my local government to recycle and make more off-budget money, for example.

Thanks BarracudaTrader for your insightful post. I have grown to appreciate your posts more and more.

And thanks, Michael, for continuing the DP in spite of the original purpose lacking the thing that motivated so many of us - seeing Ron Paul in the White House!

He has not stopped his efforts for liberty, neither should we. But there are new dangers we face: internal strife without the leader we all respected so much having the real possibility of becoming the next POTUS, for example.

Freedom is the ability to do what you want to do.
Liberty is the ability to do what you ought to do.
