Jesus Christ, Libertarian

I thought your opening sentence somewhat odd given that Jesus is often considered the ultimate libertarian. Upon further reading, though, it appears that you were turned off to Christianity by fundamentalists who hold a relatively recent (1830s) and unorthodox view of the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

That doctrine paints a rather bizarre scenario around the modern Middle East and the Christian's relationship to it based upon a severe misinterpretation of apocalyptic language used in Revelation concerning the overthrow of Jerusalem and the end of the Old Covenant circa 70 AD.
