They only seem to be true when you look at things from a short-term perspective. All will be reconciled in the age to come; Love will win; mercy and justice will be served; suffering and death will be conquered.
In the meantime, the complexities of the dance of human and divine free wills and all their repercussions in a fallen world continue, as earthly history, this foundational experience for all of us, runs its course.
Really, though, from a materialist perspective, what's the big deal with that picture you posted? Aren't the grand cathedrals and the starving children just different arrangements of meaningless, purposeless stuff -- atoms, energy, etc.? From the perspective of the universe a quadrillion years from now, what will it have mattered?
