Perhaps you're stuck in the paradigm

that we even need local grocery stores? With self contained aquaponics systems, sized perfectly for a home or a restaurant, food (produce and fish at least) would simply be grown where it was needed.

With this in place, its obvious to see how farmer's markets could match the remaining supply to demand. And if so, that's when you can see how it applies best to other food groups as well.

At that point, I don't see a problem with online sales filling the remaining holes (exotic spices and cheeses, salt, etc.)
