I certainly somewhat agree with some of Angela's adjectives there, but I think it's beneficial in beating back such political elements to fully recognize the historical presence of those with what is simply today referred to as Neocon. Irving Kristol wasn't a pioneer. He was a revivalist of puritanism, core yankee philosophy, mercantilism, national socialism. Anyone who's admired Hamilton, Lincoln, Roosevelt, etcetera, has been quite happily smitten by overt or even covert alignment with Neoconservatism.

The Neocons are today's cult leaders of the "American System"...
