I read what you wrote below, your thoughts related to moving your story. Frowning, I penned a response, and Seventeen suddenly came to me. I didn't know why. I didn't consider the words especially relevant. Yet I felt compelled to include the song in my reply. Hey, I listen to my inner voice! I went looking for a good version.

The first I came upon was a beautiful live performance from when Janis Ian was young. Such a wistful song, perfectly delivered. "Keep looking," I heard. "Why isn't this one good enough?! Oh, fine!" I scanned the alternate versions you-tube had recommended and noticed a version by this older-looking woman. It turned out to be Janis Ian singing it just a few years ago. Now I'm not generally fond of aging singers still performing their old songs when they need to half recite the lyrics in a speaking voice or change the tune because they've lost their voices. Well, I never actually got to the part where she sings, so I don't know if that's the case. It was her introduction to the song I was meant to hear. Kinda choked up...

I embedded the song into my reply to you and, mission accomplished, I came here to Page One to see what had been posted since I was here last. Starting with the newest entry, I start listening to a song by some kid named Ryan Adams. While I don't think much of his lyrics, I love the sound of the music, especially the harmonica. And so I decide to watch on you-tube and check it out. And... I realize that THAT'S JANIS IAN SITTING THERE ON THE STAGE WITH THOSE TWO GUYS. Um, yeah, I'd say I got my confirmation about the message I was supposed to pass on to you. :)
