to know if it will bite when petted; Keep hands away from most dogs if within reach of one.
So it is with police; Avoid them when possible.
Might be a good cop and it might not.
Dogs that bite are often put down.
The problem is, when cops misbehave, the police department and the union will defend the use of excessive force, and other abuse, by claiming their employee was following procedure.
When one of these YouTube videos expose the abuse and nothing happens to the cop - no punishment except paid vacation - then what is the public to conclude about the system that employs and protects them?
Yes. There may be good cops, just as there are friendly dogs, but until police are policed, keep hands in pockets and stand back.
