All products made by monopolies or cartels are inferior and more expensive. With reduced competition you skimp on costs and can keep prices high. That is the point of monopolization.
It's exacerbated extremely by the fact that the courts are secret and if the plaintiffs can manage to win a judgment it's on condition of secrecy and in any case the tax payers foot the bill for the award and the court.
Monopolies, and especially the seminal monopoly of government, must always provide a more expensive and inferior product. Drugs are no different, it's just the potential harm from drugs is extremely high.
I don't know how safe or unsafe vaccines are, but it should not be a surprise that vaccines are unsafe.
It should be a surprise if they were safe.
Economically speaking there's no particular reason they would be safe, and they are definitely much less safe, less effective, and cost more than they could be if we had a free market in drugs.
