I think the

"libertarians have to be atheist argument" boils down to self ownership being a prerequisite to being actually free and if your actions are shaped by some divine power, rather than your own autonomous will, then you don't get any moral credit for being good or bad. Or you do get moral credit for being good or bad, but that credit is subject to the measures of an all powerful being as it sees fit to force upon you.
