I see where your going with this and I understand and agree.. I was not talking about the part that talks about injecting all sorts of false material onto the internet or manipulating online discourse and activism. I was talking about altering facebook pages, and honey traps.
I dont think thats what they are referring to when they say "targets". Do they hack the facebook page of everyone who replies negatively to their post? Am I the only one who thinks when they talk about "discrediting a target" they are not talking about every person on the daily paul, they are talking about specific people. They dont hack hundreds of facebooks and alter images or set up honeytraps for entire groups of people. These tactics target individuals. I would guess individuals who are talking about things they dont want talked about, or individuals who people listen to. If I had to guess one specific incident that they were involved in. I would guess the rape charge Julian Assange is facing would be some of their work. Seems to deploy all of the tactics described throughout the article.
