First, I think Russia is entitled to protect its interests without interference from us. Especially when you consider that the west instigated the dissolution of the Ukrainian government in the first place.
With that said, since the typical republican voter still has their head in the sand and identifies with the war mongering establishment, Rand has to play to them carefully....YES, I said play to them.
Does this mean he is a sellout?
No, it means that he is smart enough to understand that this country doesn't stand a chance at recovery without playing the game of politics on the field as it is now. If he doesn't carefully balance as many issues as possible in order to appeal to the most voters possible...then in my humble opinion--all hope is lost.
So, to all the Rand haters....I challenge you to do what all libertarian leaning Ron Paul supporters do best...do some thinking about the bigger picture. Where do we want to be as a country, and how the heck are we going to get back there.
When Ron Paul dropped out of the race, and Rand Paul endorsed Romney..many of the Rand haters decided this was an action that could not be forgiven. However, Ron Paul did an interview at that time and was asked why he dropped out. The real answer--he stated--was not something he could talk about now, but maybe 20 years from now.
Fixing America, restoring constitutional government, and replacing an corrupt and entrenched system of government will be a long process. It will take someone who has the guts to play the game the way it needs to be played in order to win the presidency.
