Yes, yes, I know people still errantly refer to "Washington, D.C." to reference our national capitol, but no such city has existed since 1871. It is all merely the "District of Columbia." (there is also no longer the city of Georgetown within the district)
Usually, this reference doesn't bother me, but Mr. Robert's used it excessively, beyond the point of annoyance, even if the reference were a correct one.
