Any other riders (commuters) here?
I do 18-20 miles a day 5 days a week on a 700c hybrid. The worst part to riding a bike is all the drivers in phoenix are normally rude to the Nth degree. I ride as if the city is my entire trail, it makes me incredibly happy and is one of the few moments in my day where I have complete control, with the overwhelming sense of happiness. I think that I'm also doing wonders for my heart, but the best part is just being able to cruise and be free.
Ignore signs, drivers, lights, and all else. However I HAVE been pulled over for not having lights on my bike a night. I just repeatedly told the officer, "Is there seriously nothing better for you to do". But that was only one incident in roughly 4 years of riding. Most of my family thinks I'm just afraid of getting in a car accident, or that I'm too paranoid to allow for a license. But I love the freedom, and in a way it reminds me of being a kid and getting out of the house.
