But again, the topic isn't the use of force, it's the use of physical violence (that causes physical pain) as a punishment.

It is possible to get a child to wear his safety belt, wear clothes, sleep in a crib, etc., without the use of physical violence. Many children were not spanked, and they didn't die as a result.

It seems you're using the fallacy of equivocation...just because the use of force is unavoidable for a parent, doesn't justify the use of physical violence.
