I genuinely do not understand how if the cop was taking evasive action that his round would possibly hit the back of the dogs head. Are you saying that the cop was using some kind of boomerang type of ammunition? I am not familiar with that type of round, please give a link.
It sounds more likely the dog was the one taking the evasive action but unfortunately he was not quick enough to out run Officer Quick Draw Mcgraw.
Maybe instead of the cop calling the dog to him and out of the truck he should have told the dog to stay and lay down and things would have been different. From what I have seen and heard from the owner the dog was well trained. He was obviously able and willing to take commands from a stranger (the cop)as witnessed by the video.
