I try to keep up with the emerging GOP Playoff picture. This is helpful. I see that he likes ham sandwiches. That is an important detail. Leave it to the NYT to pick up on important details like that.

Mr. Walker’s practical message — delivered in unadorned terms and his nasal, Wisconsin flatness — matched the moment of financial crisis in a state that Barack Obama had carried in 2008 and would again in 2012. Mr. Walker regularly mentioned his daily lunch along the campaign trail: two ham-and-cheese sandwiches from home. Plain fare for austere times.

And the "unadorned nasal flatness" should help Rand fans feel not so alone.

I see he's got a new book out, just in time for the season:

Unintimidated: A Governor's Story and a Nation's Challenge. That goofy grin isn't going to help him much.

And, of course, he's a statist.

In this critical swing state, Mr. Walker knows he must appeal not just to conservatives, but also to Wisconsin’s independent voters, and he recently distanced himself from a resolution, backed by some in the Tea Party, asserting the state’s right to secede in extreme circumstances.

That's not going to fly with a lot of folks around here.
