I am so tired of satire

At least in its modern form. It gets people accustomed to disregarding shocking news so that when the truly shocking happens, nobody notices, nobody cares, and nobody shares.

Good satire doesn't get confused with real news because they capitalize on absurdity. Consider the classic example of Candlemaker's Petition, my favorite satire of all time. It's the absurdity that makes its point.

Candidates do change parties. Romney does adhere to Democrat ways of thinking. So writing that he became a democrat isn't satire, it's just lying. It's not helpful and it's not funny. It's just annoying.

The fake news is really getting old.
