That is true, they do - however you aren't forced to read the opinions of another person. It's not even factual - and it's mandatory.
To a young mind - you may want to hold off from such books until you can better understand a fictional story - that way your perception of the way things should/can be isn't clouded.
I'm for fiction - but not if it is forced. If it's forced, what's the point of it?
