It does seem absurd to have that goal. In my time spent in the "Liberty" movement, I've come to see a kind of codependent relationship with those who think it is their responsibility to "wake up" the masses. As if it were even possible. Some people have an Atlas complex. They think that if they shrug, the world will come crashing down as a result.

But what did Ayn Rand suggest Atlas do? Shrug.

But second: How would you go about doing that?

Again, this goes to the absurdity of the task at hand. It is akin to looking at a tree full of apples in early spring, and asking, "How do I go about making these apples ripen?"

They'll ripen in their own due time. You don't really have to do anything. No excess worry or effort is required.

That is my latest understanding.
