but this is SC we're talking about. I see your point as well, and yes, it's a scary gamble, but in SC I highly doubt it would be very hard to unseat an incumbent democrat later that happened to somehow get elected. SC has been dominantly red for a long time and it also has its evangelical factor. Evangelicals don't waver in voting habits. I know that much from where I am, also in the midst of the bible belt. It's likely most of the state would be itching like a festered tick bite to get rid of the democrat next round. ...Of course that's not to say Graham wouldn't run against them again either, but at least he would be at a wounded status no longer being the incumbent, leaving him at much more of a disadvantage to challengers.
