Our Universe is continually expanding, and if anything that negates your counterpoint because the further away the light originates the longer it takes to reach Earth. There is light being created beyond our Event Horizon that, because of the expansion and distance, will never reach Earth (or our galaxy after it's merged with Andromeda) ever. But nearby, in our own galaxy, we have light reaching us from 20,000 light years away. If Earth were approximately only 6,000 years old, that light would still be 14,000 years away from reaching us. It is solid fact; there is no logical and factual counterpoint to it.
