The way that I view the world is this...I don't know what God is, but I know what he isn't. He isn't "church". He sure as hell isn't Christianity!! I know a multitude of "Christians" of all various flavors, some are family and some are aquaintances, and they all have one thing in common: They have been programmed all their lives to believe...and to believe without question...the authority of some person wearing a grand hat and fancy robes. Should anyone question "the word" they are labeled a heretic and a blasphemer.
What I have noticed over the years is that this type of religious programming bleeds over into other facets of life. Those that I know who are deeply Christian, are the FIRST to jump on any bandwagon Glen Beck tells them to...any cause from global warming, feeding the poor in Africa or Haiti or calling Ed Snowden a traitor of drone-bombing some village full of evil muslims...anything that's done in the name of jesus is justifiable, no matter how horrible. I cannot name a single "church-person" that is a questioning, rational free-thinker...not one. I know they mean well in their heart-of-hearts, but thinking for yourself and questioning authority goes against the programming of "the church".
Worship your God in your own way. Do it at home, by your own rules with your own family. You don't need to attend the weekly fashion show to be recognized by God...he doesn't give a shit what you wear.
It is my contention that these Christian groups are now siding with the amnesty-types because they've been told to...and their programming doesn't allow them to ask why.
