Division of labor

There's a difference between what one does to earn a living (specialization, professionalism, expertise and practice all being entailed) and what one understands about the world, daily life, and the way things work outside of ones specialty. Heinlein earned his living writing books -- but he knew that life is much more than what one does to earn a living. Being human is not a specialty.
